Its been a while...

I feel that this has become my title all to often in the past few months. Things have been crazy and we have had a big transition in our life. I recently took a position at Children's Medical Center as a Child Life Specialist. It has been a great experience so far, I am finally using my internship training and using that at a closer hospital here in Dallas. I have loved it but getting used to the schedule has been the challenge. I work Friday thru Tuesday, which is not ideal, but it is a great start, and a great position to gain a lot knowledge and experience a lot. So Friday I cover wherever is needed, myself and one other specialist cover the whole hospital on Saturday and Sunday, and then on Monday and Tuesday I work on the Neuro-surgical/ Cranial and Facial unit. I have been there for a month and have really enjoyed getting to know the staff and the different areas of the hospital that I might be called to work in. So with the start of a new job, and a trip to NC this past weekend, we have been very busy, but again (like I always promise) I hope to blog more in the future. I hope to put pictures of our apartment up this week with all of our Christimas decorations... that is my goal!!

What a great time we had.. more than anything we were so encouraged by the people who came up to talk to us and expressed their gratitude for us being out there. Many were so excited to hear Christian music being played at the State Fair and responded really well... we had a great time, here are some pictures from throughout the evening...

Eden Bailey....

On September 25th our new, and first niece Eden Bailey was born. We have enjoyed having a nephew and have loved him so much, and every time we see him he amazes us with what he is learning and how his personality is forming in to such a sweet little boy. We are so excited to have a niece now, and to see her change and mold in to a sweet young lady. We were so happy to see them both and realy enjoyed the time that we have had with Cole and Eden! Anniversary Trip

Jeff had planned a great anniversary trip for the weekend before the 15th, but because of Ike we had to reschedule, so a few weekends ago we left for a few nights down in Austin. Friday night we stayed in a night, quiet resort right of of Lake Travis and just got to relax some. Saturday we drove in the Austin to do some shopping and then got ready for a nice dinner at a restaurant called Eddie V's. We stayed in downtown Austin that night and then headed back on Sunday. Our Special Anniversary Dessert

We had a great weekend and we are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for our second year of marriage!

One year ago....

It has been such a fast and busy year, I can not believe that it has already been a year since our wedding. It has been such a year of learning and growing together and though at times it was tough, the Lord saw us through. It has been a year of tears (happy and sad), laughter, traveling, singing, and arguments over the silliest little things. We have felt so blessed to have such a great support group of family, friends, home group, and a wonderful church to encourage us along the way. In honor of our anniversary here are a few of our highlights over the year....
1. Getting our first apartment together and the joy of setting up our first home.
2. Jeff receiving a great job that would enable him to travel but also help him network and meet wonderful people in the music industry.
3. Spending our first holidays together, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
4. Between the both of us juggling, traveling, full time work, the cheer gym, a internship, church, and spending time together
5. FInding out that we were going to be having a niece in the Fall.
6. Buying our first dog together, (Jeff's first dog ever)....Maddie, she has been a great joy, but at times difficult.
7. Getting involved in a great church and home group and really getting to experience community with them.
8. Traveling to North Carolina to surprise family.
9. Jeff's new Cd Shine
10. Spending a month apart in July that would only bring us closer together and make our relationship so much stronger.
11. Getting to travel all around in September for the Shine Cd Tour and meeting many great people.
12. Looking forward to year 2 which will bring only more first and more memories.....

Softball Stud

The past few weeks Jeff has been stepping on to my brothers soft ball team to help out since there have been low numbers. He has done very well... and I think that he might be enjoying it. Tonight we went out there and took Maddie with us. This was an interesting experience since it was her first time on the leash... it took a while but she got better with it. So Long....

I apologize for not blogging sooner.. I have been really dropping the ball on this blog stuff. Lately things have calmed down. There have been a few nights where Jeff and I actually do not have anything going on, and it has been great. Jeff is flying out tomorrow to Oklahoma for a show tomorrow night and then will be driving back with the band. I have been working part- time at the gym, still looking for a job, and enjoying the ability that I have to travel with Jeff some. We are so excited for the coming month... this September will be a great month. First we are going to be in and out of North Carolina from the 3rd of September till the 12th. We are excited to spend time with family and friends and travel a good bit to some places that we have not yet seen. It should be fun and tiring all at the same time. The weekend that we get home Jeff and I will be celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary. I can not believe that it has already been a year, but we are looking forward to many more. The last few weeks of September will be the most exciting... our first niece Eden Bailey should be arriving somewhere around the 24th... if not sooner. We are so ready to meet her and love on her. We are so excited for what God has in store for this coming month. We are truly blessed daily with the opportunities that God has given us. Here are a few pictures from the past month or so....
