BIG NEWS....

Yes, I know its has been a while, but I am going to be working on it... especially since in June I will have a lot more to blog about! We are pregnant! We are expecting a precious blessing on June 27th. We found out mid October and have been dying to let people know, we shared with family on Thanksgiving and then we have been telling others once we were able to see the baby and meet with the doctor! We are so excited for this new chapter in our lives and look forward to enjoying the next few months preparing for our little one! Here are a few pictures of the journey so far!

SO BUSY!

I apologize for totally forgetting about our blog since May! I have great intentions of every time I sit at the computer to update our blog, but it just does not happen! I really mean it this time when I say that I am going to try to update more often! : ) I do not have many pictures to post tonight, just a few that are on Jeff's computer. Here are a few of the major things that have happened since I last posted:
1. We went on family vacation to Myrtle Beach with Jeff's family, we had a great time and really enjoyed hanging out with family and celebrating Lee's 50th!
2. Lee came back to Texas with us and for a week, Jeff and him painted the whole house! It was so nice and I know that Jeff really enjoyed the time with his dad
3. A week later Jeff and I moved in to our new house with the help of my parents and brothers, it was a crazy weekend but we could not have done it without them!
4. 2 days after moving into our new house, Jeff left for his summer camps for 3 weeks, so what did that mean for me??? I went to my parents house to stay : )
5. While Jeff was out of town, my family suffered a great loss when my grandfather went to be with the Lord on July 13th, it was a very hard time for my family but we rejoice in the comfort and peace of knowing that he is with our Creator! Jeff was able to fly in for the day of my grandfather funeral.
6. August 1st, we threw a surprise 50th birthday for my mom, I thought for sure that she had an idea, but she was clueless, it was so much fun and I will be posting pictures soon!
7. And last but not least, on July 1st Jeff started a new full time job, he is now the Next Generation Worship Pastor at our church The Village! This is a huge answered prayer for Jeff and I. Since being married we have really connected and felt like The Village was our home and where we needed to plug in and grow. We have been praying that if it was the Lords will for Jeff to work there, that He would allow for something to open up! Praise the Lord, Jeff is going on his second month at the church and absolutely loving it, not to mention, I love that he is home and that he is no longer having to travel!

So needless to say, it has been a busy summer, and although that does not give me an excuse for not blogging, I am going to use it as my excuse! Maddie is adjusting well to the new house and loves that she now has a backyard to run around in! Here are a few pictures of the house as it was a work in progress, we have already done so much to the house but I will save those for my next post!

Happy Birthday Maddie....

.... 2 months late.... I have been meaning to post pictures of Maddie's birthday! Maddie turned 1 on April 11th! We got her a doggie cupcake which she seemed to like, and I got a few pictures of her with her bow in before she tore it up!

Big News....

It has been a busy past few weeks, we have had a lot of things going on, and a lot of change. Our big news... we have bought a house. It happened very fast, in fact we looked at it on a Thursday and the owners took our second offer on that Friday. We feel very blessed and excited about our new home. We close on June 8th (a lot sooner than we thought) but this will give us a good time to paint and get things set up before we have to be out of our apartment in the beginning of August. We are located about 3 miles North of our apartment now, still in Lewisville! We are looking forward to getting it all set up. Here is a picture of the front of the house, its not the best picture but it gives you an idea.....

I just got back in from Boston from taking my certification test, it was very difficult but I am hoping I did okay, I will hear back in about 6-8 weeks, which means a summer of torture... ha ! We got there on Wednesday and took the test Thursday so from there on we enjoyed the city! It was a lot of fun, we went to Harvard, did the Freedom Trail and of course did some shopping. Here is a picture of some of the girls that I went with.

Jeff has been busy getting ready for all his summer travels, we have enjoyed the past few weeks of him being home. I am not sure if he has been home this consistent since we got married, so we are enjoying it! We have a busy few weekends coming up but we are looking forward to them since it means that we are getting closer to Myrtle Beach vacation. We can not wait to see everyone and spend a week with family! We will post more pictures of the house soon once we have closed!

Texas Tornados

The other night was a first for Jeff! In the time that Jeff has lived here we have had bad weather and thunderstorms, and been under a Tornado Watch, but never had a Tornado Warning. We might have had a tornado warning but it always happened when he was out of town, and they were not as serious.

What;s the difference between a watch and a warning???
WATCH- Be on the look out that the weather has the potential to create a tornado, but no tornado has been spotted
WARNING- There has been a tornado spotted or rotation in the clouds, and you should take cover immediately in the center of your home.

About two weeks ago we knew that bad weather was coming so we went over to my parents house like we always do ( I would not want to be caught in a third story apartment in a tornado). It was looking like everything was going to blow over quickly when the weather man started to say that there was a tornado warning for the city of Coppell, and that it was heading right in the direction of Lewisville... I got pretty panicked. ( For those who don't know I am horribly afraid of tornados, I have grown up here my whole life, and have taken cover for a few, but all the while crying and shaking... I actually asked Jesus in to my heart in my bathtub at the age of 10 taking cover for a tornado.... It has always been a joke around our house and I get teased a lot because I will not go anywhere even if I know that we are under a watch.) About 5 minutes passed and the sirens started going off and we were grabbing the dogs and putting them in the bathroom with us. So its Jeff, myself, and two dogs sitting in the bathtub, while my mom and dad where standing in the bathroom with the other dog. After you are in the tub you are supposed to have a flashlight and a hand held radio to be listening, but we just turned the TV up since we did not think that it was going to last that long. After about 10 minutes the weatherman said that it was through Lewisville and the sirens cut off. Luckily we did not have a tornado that touched down, just some hail and really high winds, there was a tornado that hit in Coppell and took the roof off some houses. This was very early in the season to have a tornado. Tornado season is usually from about March- May, and then again from August-October. Jeff was happy to say that he lived through his first real Tornado Warning.

Here is a picture of us in the tub after we knew that it was going to be okay!

There are several different tornado sirens around town, there is actually one about 500 ft. from Jeff and I's apartment so when it goes off it is so loud, they test them every first Wednesday of the month... Here is what the sirens in Lewisville look like.

I thought that I would also attach a link to a video of the sirens going off, its not like a ambulance siren, it has a sound of its own,,, and it scares me to death every time it goes off...
